How it all started
CEC was established as a steel fabrication company in 2010.
Our well experienced professional management team has over 200 years of experience.
CEC has in six short years proved themselves as a fabricator to be reckoned with, and have significantly increased their footprint in the market. CEC fabricates from light to heavy engineering in mild steel, stainless steel and special alloy steels.
Our workshop team consists of qualified boilermakers, welders, operators, riggers, drivers and general labourers.
The service department’s offering to clients includes estimating, document control, project management, planning, health and safety management, quality assurance and quality control.
Our employees forms the backbone of our business.

We at CEC Fabrication & Construction take

We pride ourselves in achieving a
4 star rating with a 92% average.
ISO
CEC successfully completed our audit & we proud to announce that we are now an accredited ISO 3834/2 Welding Management System company.
Audited by the South African Institute of Welding as per the requirements set out by the International Institute of Welding.
Our quality management manuals are drawn up in accordance to ASME Section VIII division 1 Appendix 10 as incorporated into SANS 347:2019 Annex B.

A little more about us…
Our Fabrication area of 5000 square meters comprises of three separate workshop bays under overhead cranes.
· Manufacturing Bay 1 is utilised for stainless steel work and our in-house machine shop – It is equipped with 2 Off 10 Ton Overhead cranes
· Manufacturing Bay 2 is utilised for light to medium fabrication work. It is equipped with 1 off 10 Ton Overhead Crane and 1 off 20 Ton Overhead Crane
· Our Super Heavy Bay is equipped with 2 off 50 Ton Overhead Cranes. The bay is 23 meters high with 16.7 meter under the hook of the crane. We have recently also installed a 6m x 5m x 1000AMP Boom Welding Machine
We have in-house plate bending capabilities as well as plate and pipe rolling capabilities. Cutting is done by either cut-off machines, band saws, flame cutting, profile cutting or plasma cutting.
Our Fully Equipped Medium Sized Machine shop with fitting capability is equipped with lathes, horizontal boring mills, milling machines and radial arm drills.
400AMP Generator ensures no down time during power failures
We also have 12444 square meters of open yard space, serviced with forklifts and a 18 Ton Mobile crane. This area is utilised for sandblasting, painting, rubber lining, trial fit ups, fabrication and/or storage
Our office and stores covers an additional area of 1150 square meters.
Our workforce range from 100 people to 380 people depending on work loading.

Everybody, from project management, planning, detailing, fabrication, corrosion protection and delivery, contribute to the quality control process.

Workshop
Our workshop consists of three bays with 5000 square meters under overhead cranes
Cranes
Overhead Cranes: 3 x 10 Ton cranes, 1 x 20 Ton crane & 2 x 50 Ton cranes in our Super Heavy Bay.
Super Heavy Bay
Our Impressive Super Heavy Bay is 23 meter high with 16.7 meter under hook of crane.
Heavy Bay Supplementation
We further supplement our super heavy bay operations with a 6m x 5m x 1000AMP boom welder.
CEC Own Generator
We have a 400AMP Generator to ensure no down time occurs during electricity supply interruptions.
Steel Manufacturing
Mild Steel and Stainless steel manufacturing is done in separate bays to avoid any contamination
Outside Storage
We have an outside storage area of 12444 square meters.
Plate Work
Plate work processing include rolling, cutting and bending
Welding
Welding equipment including TIG, Stick, Flux core and MIG
Shutdowns
All required employees are provided during Shutdowns and for large projects
Mobile Cranes & Forklifts
Mobile cranes and forklifts are used in our sandblasting, painting and storage area.
Offices & Stores
Our offices and stores comprise 1150 square meters.
